An audio interview of Amy Lee on the Rod Ryan Show in August 2011, about 2 months before Evanescence's 3rd studio album was released. One of the questions was about her first concert, and she said it was the Smashing Pumpkins and Garbage when she was about 14 years old.

Evanescence has covered Smashing Pumpkin's song, Zero, and they performed it at Rock Am Ring in 2003 and 2004.
